About The American College of Family Medicine - Do no harm

Pro-Life. Hippocratic oath. American College of Family Medicine.

Our History

Over the past several decades there has been a gradual but pervasive move away from the core tenets of Hippocratic Medicine at educational institutions and graduate medical associations. The traditional Hippocratic Oath, once taken by most graduates of medical schools, is now professed rarely. The time-honored principles of medicine presented in the Oath – protection of human life at all ages, adherence to “First Do No Harm,” and offering science-based therapies free from political and cultural bias – are no longer universally accepted or practiced.

In response to this dangerous shift, ten Family Physicians began meeting in the spring of 2023 with the intent of creating an organization that would promote and defend the principles and practice of Hippocratic Medicine. On October 12, 2023 the American College of Family Medicine was incorporated as a Non-profit Corporation and have since been deemed a 501c3 charitable organization.
