Magen Hicks, PGY-2, Waco Family Medicine Residency - Waco, TX

Young women and girls are told that babies in the womb aren’t humans; that they are burdens on our future and commodities to be enjoyed “someday”. I too had accepted and peddled the lie that my “right” to control and happiness trumped the life of an unborn child. I later accepted Christ and the truth that I was living a selfish and fear-based existence. God's Word showed me that life is sacred, and as physicians, we are called to protect and nurture it from conception.

We have seen the mainstream media use the physician membership of national medical associations to presume that there is consensus in the medical community about abortion, transgender care, etc. This is in spite of large pro-life member groups within these organizations that demonstrate the lack of agreement. Strong membership in organizations like the ACFM is essential for when the big medical associations stay silent, or worse, take positions that do not protect life and our most vulnerable patients.
