Janet Hurley, MD

Dr. Hurley completed medical school at Texas A&M College of Medicine in 2000 and residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler in 2003.  She has practiced family medicine in Tyler, Texas since, and has served in several leadership positions within her organization including committee chair, board member, operations chief, medical director of population health, and medical director of associate health.  She started her leadership within the Texas Academy of Family Physicians in 1996 as a student, where she chaired or participated in numerous task forces, commissions, and committees, and later became president of that organization in 2017.  She also participated on 3 separate commissions for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).  She is a Fellow of the AAFP and was a founding member for the AAFP Physicians for Life Member Interest Group, which seeks to defend both the beginning and the end of life.  She is married and has two adult children.
